Autonomous Vehicles Coming to a City Near You
While the autonomous vehicle revolution has been a bit slower that many had anticipated, we are continuing to see more and more AVs on our roads. According to our urban mobility survey, almost all U.S. cities and municipalities (93%) anticipate they’ll need to be ready for driverless or autonomous vehicles on their roads within five years.

A Connected Vehicle Advantage
The vast majority of new vehicles sold in the U.S. are considered “connected vehicles.” While not all drivers are aware of the possibilities of a connected vehicle, 57% of our survey respondents said connected vehicle services are a reason they would spend more on a vehicle.

Digital Wallets on Wheels?
Connected vehicles could provide drivers with the ability to pay for services such as fueling and tolls directly through their vehicle. More than of Americans find the idea of a vehicle being a “digital wallet” appealing and 54% would enable the feature if it was available to them.

The Dangers Behind Thanksgiving Holiday Driving
Whether they're eager to get home for the holidays or are just trying to beat the rush, American drivers can make dangerous driving decisions around the Thanksgiving weekend. During the holiday weekend (Wednesday through Sunday), the Wednesday before Thanksgiving sees the most red-light violations. The most common time for speeding is between 10:00 am and noon on Thanksgiving Day.

EVs are Coming...Eventually
While the pace of EV adoption has slowed in the past year, the consumer demand for electric vehicles hasn’t gone away. City technology leaders will need to invest in new infrastructure. But this year, 43% of the respondents in our study said their jurisdiction has deprioritized EV infrastructure support since consumer demand has not kept up with expectations.

Speeding in School Zones is a Prevalent Danger
Nearly 10,000 potential speeding violations occurred during a three-day period in a Florida city. We monitored 205 school zones throughout dozens of communities in the area. Speeding, one of the most dangerous driving behaviors, poses a real safety risk to children on their way to and from school.
