Highlights from our survey include:
- 93% of cities in the U.S. anticipating needed to be ready for driverless or autonomous vehicles within the next 5 years.
- 55% of municipal tech leaders have reducing road safety incidents as a top 3 priority to address with tech-based solutions.
- 81% anticipate some systems will need to be updated before they’re ready to incorporate connected vehicles into their transportation initiatives.
- 43% said their cities have deprioritized support for electric vehicle infrastructure due to the fact that consumer demand for EV technology has not kept up with initial predictions.
- 84% of respondents said the rapid increase in shared mobility – including e-bikes, e-scooters and ride sharing services – has complicated their mobility efforts.
